About the performer:
Alyssa’s “strong soprano voice” delivers performances deemed “an embarrassment of riches” (Jeanné McCartin, Seacoast Online). She has found a niche as a vocal artist that slides easily between genres and styles, with keen musicianship and sight-singing skills that make her a sought-after collaborator. She is a founding member and vocalist for the New York City-based early music ensemble Ars Poetica.
Last season, Alyssa performed the role of Healer in the world premier of Hildegard, Reborn with the NYPL at the Lincoln Center, and sang the role of Nature in Early Music Access Project’s regional premier of James Shirley and John Locke’s Cupid & Death at the famed Blackfriars Playhouse.
“Alyssa is one of those rare humans who does a great number of things at a very high level. She has captivated Early Music Access Project audiences with her acting and sings 17th century music with clarity and ease.”
—David McCormick (Executive Director of Early Music America, Artistic Director of Early Music Access Project)
Alyssa is a frequent collaborator around New York City and Boston. She joined Alkemie’s Verdant Medicine tour and sang the role of Narrator in Markaris’ world premier of Tam Lin at the Five Boroughs Music Festival. She has also been heard as a soprano soloist singing new music with Theotokos at St. Mary’s on Grand St. and at Trinity Church Boston in their Messiah and Saint Andrew’s Singer Series.
